Hi there, I’m Jessica.

I am a lover of Jesus, wife of an Army chaplain and mother to three beautiful children, including a pediatric cancer survivor. We’re currently navigating life while stationed in Europe.

You may recognize me from my time running the website Beggar’s Daughter. This is a new space but the same heartbeat. My passion is to help people understand how they fit into the overarching story of grace. I openly share my story and create resources to strengthen your faith.

If you’ve been asking “what’s the point?” or wondering if your story matters, I invite you to stop scrolling and settle in.

Grace has a story… and you’re in it.

Long Bio

Jessica (Harris) Cerula is a writer, teacher, and lover of grace. For years she operated the website Beggar’s Daughter, creating connection and resources for Christian women struggling with sexual sin. In that time, she authored Beggar’s Daughter, and Quenched: Discovering God’s Abundant Grace for Women Struggling with Pornography and Sexual Shame. She has shared her story on numerous platforms, and has partnered with several ministries to help develop resources to communicate God’s grace effectively to women.

She is married to Michael, a Family Life Chaplain in the US Army, and they have three young children. In 2024, their family moved to Europe with the military. In 2025, their oldest was diagnosed with a rare pediatric cancer, a journey they navigated while still in Europe.

After so much life change, Jessica felt a shift in the mission field of her writing, and so launched out to communicate God’s story of grace to a broader group of women, including military wives, moms with young kids, and moms navigating complex medical journeys. Her passion is to connect people with the overarching story of God’s grace in the Bible and to find how His grace impacts their own lives.
